Lead Finance Officer - Wilmslow
Working with our prestigious client based in the heart of Wilmslow, we have an opportunity for a Lead Finance Officer to work within their Finance Department on a temporary basis for 6 months.
The purpose of the Lead Finance Officer role will be to maintain proper accounts and records and uphold the professional duty of care, ethics and high standards expected from the organisation.
Duties will include:-
* Making sure all transactions are posted accurately and within the appropriate reporting structure * Posting period end adjustments to ensure accuracy of accrual based accounts at transactional level for income, expenditure and balance sheet accounts * Managing the recording process, posting and maintaining schedules for all balance sheet transactions. * Maintaining a controlled and deadline-focused month end and year end process with audit trails for each balance in the accounts including the appropriate sign off process for all contributors * Making sure that best practice procedures and controls are being correctly applied within the finance function and that associated procedure documents are kept relevant and current * Providing enquiry support to the wider business and making sure that published reports, forms and templates are correct and up to date * Liaise with internal and external auditors when required and provide back up evidence to all accounting balances * Supporting senior staff in producing budget reports, income and expenditure, balance sheet and cash flow forecasts * Providing cover and support to senior staff when required * Supervision and support of more junior staff members to achieve teams objectives
* A formal accounting qualification e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or studying towards such a qualification or qualified by experience is desirable * Evidence of continued professional development to maintain knowledge and skills * Previous experience working in a finance environment managing processes and controls * Good organisational skills and an ability to prioritise own workload * Ability to work to and manage strict deadlines * IT literate and accurate inputting skills * Experience of computerised accounting packages
